The foot is without question an extremely important part of the human body, with some 26 bones in each foot.
During the average lifetime of a human being it has been estimated that we will have walked the equivalent of nearly 3 ½ times around the earth.
With an average of 10,000 paces per day and around 2 ½ times the body weight being applied to some of the joints, the bones of the foot are under constant use and pressure.
Despite the amount of time that we use our feet and the structural & mechanical pressure we load them with from the type of shoes we wear, the activities we perform and our weight being applied to them, the majority of us do not think too much about them until we begin to experience problems with them.
That is when we begin to realize the enormous work load that we place upon them and expect from them every day of our lives.
